Spencer Haines
Running for Vice President

I grew up in Fort Worth, TX and enlisted in the Marine Corps. right out of high school. During that time I got married and had my son. That lead me to leaving the Marine Corps and taking a job in building material sale. We moved around for the first few years of that until we landed in Tulsa and knew we were home.

I enjoy being part of something bigger than myself.

Tulsa has been a great place for me and my family and now I want to be a part of giving something back to it.

Chris Armistead
Running for Vice President

Jacob Will
Running for Treasurer

I have been the treasurer for 3 years now and we are still afloat. Plus I haven’t embezzled funds for years now and that time is behind me.

Steve Hitz
Running for At-Large Director

I love TRFC! I have been a council member for my sons boy scout troop years back. I would love to be more involved in this group and love to give back to the community. Beer showers for everyone!

Running for At-Large Director

I would like to serve as the 2018 Member at Large and help grow and strengthen our soccer community in Tulsa.

From the President of the Tulsa Roustabouts

On behalf of the 2017 leaders I want to say welcome back! This year is crucial for the Roughnecks and we will be pushing them on in a way only we can. I am so grateful for the friends I’ve made and the moments we’ve had from this group.

First, join me in offering thanks to our inaugural and past president, Zach Easdon. When this all started several years ago he was the only one who stood up to lead from the front. The Roustabouts started with him and I know you’ll agree that we couldn’t be happier to have the group around! So please, the next time you see him, make it a point to thank Zach.

Moving forward we have a ton to be excited about! The team is being assembled and opening day will be here before we know it. If you haven’t had the opportunity to meet Coach David Vaudreuil, I think you’ll be happy with the hiring. I was extremely impressed with him and it won’t be shock if we see him jump into the crowd after a Roughnecks WIN! The Roustabouts board is also working on ways to enhance our membership including restructuring the pricing options and beefing up possible discounts at local establishments. Also, TAILGATES! I’m looking to enhance what is already a good experience to give the Roustabouts (and any passerby for that matter) the party they so richly desire. Additionally, soon you’ll begin to see events popping up; many informal and a few bigger events including volunteer opportunities geared toward enriching the city of Tulsa. It’s going to be an exciting year!

One last note: thank you for being a Roustabout. I sincerely hope you decide to join us again this year. This group is only as good as those who choose to be part of it…and that means YOU. Without your voice at top volume we aren’t as loud. Without your personality we aren’t as vibrant. Without your ideas we aren’t as creative. Without you…well…we aren’t us. Whether you’re returning from the past or joining for the first time, we need you!

I’m looking forward to seeing you soon in orange and blue.
COME ON YOU ROUGHNECKS!

Warm Regards,

Joshua Firor
President, Tulsa Roustabouts

Meet the Board of Directors Candidates

Next week elections for the 2017 board of directors will be held. Before the election, take some time to get to know the candidates. Absentee voting will be available to those unable to attend the Annual General Meeting on December 13. The candidates will have a chance to make remarks before the election begins during the Annual General Meeting.

Joshua Firor
Running for President

TRFC’s 2016 was rough and we made our own mistakes in the process. I own that and believe we will learn from it. A coach once told me that the best way to heal from messy moments is to get back to the basics. That’s why I’m running. I aim to lead this group in returning to why we all gathered in the first place: to support our boys in orange in every moment and to find ways to boost the sport we love in Tulsa. It’s really that simple: a return to the basics. Come cheer with me! Let’s go ‘Necks!

Ricky Myers
Running for Vice President

I’ve spent six years in the Oklahoma National Guard as a Infantryman. Served tours in Iraq and earned my Combat Infantry Badge in Afghanistan. I’m proudly serving as your CAPO! I’m dependable, loyal, dedicated, and have a “never give up mentality.” I will continue to support community projects like “Flip the Pitch” so we as a group can help grow the sport we all love and have a safe place for Tulsa children to play. I love the Roustabouts and would love to serve as your next Vice President.

Jacob Will
Running for Treasurer

I want to use our finances to build tailgate parties into a more structured event with food provided as much as possible. Bring sponsors for separate tailgates and move away from selling merch. It should never be a financial burden to be a Roustabout. It’s a crucial year for the club and our organization. We need to bring back the basics of showing people how to have fun. I have served as your treasurer twice and would appreciate the chance to do it again. I’m also an ace at photoshop!

Cody Bromley
Running for Secretary

I’m running for re-election as secretary because I believe I still have talents to offer our group. As your secretary, I’ll make sure our group is run fairly and as transparently as possible and will do everything in my power to keep members informed online, on social media or in person. I also look forward to offering great service for our online and in-person stores. I’m still excited about our club and think our best days still lie ahead. TRFC!

Chris Armistead
Running for At-Large Director

Hi, I’m the guy with the cowbell. I’d like to help out the organization by taking on a role as an At-Large Director in the areas of Community Outreach, Membership, or other role as the Board sees fit. Vote for me! Make the cowbell great again!

Lori Scholl
Running for At-Large Director

I want to serve our group and represent the Roustabouts in a positive way.

Flipping The Pitch – A Roustabouts Community Service Project

ywcaflyer

The Tulsa Roustabouts, the official supporters group of the Tulsa Roughnecks FC men’s soccer team, are partnering with YWCA Tulsa and the Roughnecks to revitalize two disused baseball fields at 17th Street and Memorial Drive. This service project, called “Flipping the Pitch,” will begin in September and turn the lot into two or three community soccer fields, or “pitches.”

Owned by YWCA Tulsa, the baseball fields have gone unused for several years and become overgrown with brush, and are now in need of major repair. Volunteers from the Roustabouts will start clearing the lot next month to prepare for the development of the pitches.

“Part of the mission of the Roustabouts supporters group is to promote youth soccer, so we are excited to come together with our team and the YWCA to bring new, safe fields to the Tulsa community,” said Zach Easdon, president of the Tulsa Roustabouts.

Phase I of the project will include clearing out overgrown plants and trees along the property line and fencing, repairing and painting several sets of bleachers, cleaning and painting an existing concession stand, and moving in at least one permanent set of soccer goal posts. Phase II will consist of moving existing light poles to allow for two full-length soccer pitches. Goal posts and nets will be finalized, and the concession stand will also be made operable.

The Roughnecks will donate sod previously used for matches at ONEOK Field to be placed on the new pitches. The pitches are anticipated to be completed by the end of October, then they will be open to the public for anytime use. The YWCA will manage the upkeep of the fields following completion, and the Roughnecks plan to organize a free youth soccer clinic soon after.

We’ve Updated Our Code of Conduct

Members,

At the May meeting of our Board of Directors, a revised version of our code of conduct was unanimously passed. The board felt the time was right to more clearly define what behavior is considered unbecoming of a Roustabout and the consequences of continuing to do so. While we believe we have covered a lot of ground in the revised code of conduct, we do not view it as a perfect and final document. In the future, additional items may need to be added to the code and actions not listed here may still need to be reviewed by the board. We appreciate your help as we develop this and make our group better, safer and stronger.

Thank you,

Cody Bromley
Secretary, Tulsa Roustabouts

San Antonio Away Day Facebook Event

"

We’re really stoked for a great weekend in Kansas City. The Tulsa Roughnecks FC will be coming into Swope Park with revenge in mind and we’ll be there to cheer them on.

Travel/Transit

We surveyed members about this weekend and decided against organized travel due to some people wishing to stay longer than others. You will need to drive yourself or find people to carpool with.

Pre-Match Activities

Friday: For anyone traveling down early there is a FCKC (women’s league – NWSL) match that evening at 7:30pm. They play at Swope Park as well and tickets are really cheap. Tickets are not available yet but we shouldn’t have to worry about sitting together.

Saturday:
@11:00am – Boulevard Tour: Anyone that wants to join us for a 40 min tour and a few free drinks at the end please let Jacob Will know.  It is free but we will have to get tickets early that morning and Jacob has offered to handle that.

After Tour / Lunch: Whenever the tour is finished and we have had a fill of good brews lunch is on your own but anyone that wants to join can walk down the street to a terrific place called Empanada Madness. It is a well known spot for great authentic food that is cheap and delicious. The street has a few really good Mexican options if we want to look at another spot, but we should find something within walking distance if we want to stick together.

@3:00pm – FootGolf: That’s right, we said FootGolf and it gets even better.  The golf course that has this is attached to Swope Park so we are literally right next door. We can have groups of up to 6 teeing off every 5 minutes. You can do a round of golf in less than 2 hours which would put us at tailgating at 5. If we need to push the tee time up a half hour we’re sure we can do that. Jacob Will will need to know a head count for this, so please let him know if you plan to come. 18 holes is $12 and if you don’t bring a ball its another $3.  No dress code except you can’t wear your cleats. There will be a prize for best male and female scores.

@5:00pm – Tailgate at Swope Park: More details to come

Tickets

Use the button below and then enter promo code TULSA to get tickets with the Tulsa Roustabouts in a discounted section. This link will expire NINE days from now, so act quickly!

Below is the ticket link for this match. Don’t worry about the rows and seat #. It’s basically GA. Code is: 16Roustabouts

MLS Sunday Match

The day after Swope Park Rangers and the Tulsa Roughnecks FC play, Swope’s parent club Sporting Kansas City are taking on Orlando City SC at 2:30 p.m.

@Noon: For those who are going, we’re going to tailgate before the match. Bring out whatever you want and remember drivers to keep it chill since most of you are driving back to Tulsa after the match.

SKC Tickets
As some members already have affiliations with groups like KC Cauldron and South Stands SC and have exclusive access to get tickets to those sections, we are not organizing a group ticket buy for this match. Tickets for the match are available online (Link Removed).
